The city of Daegu announced on the 26th that Dentis Co., Ltd. (CEO Shim Ki-bong), a manufacturer and distributor of dental implant medical devices, has been selected as the recipient of the '2012 Daegu SME Grand Prize.'

The Excellence Prize was awarded to Deoksan Cotran Co., Ltd. (CEO Kang Hwan-su) and Youngshin Electric Industries Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Seung-byeong), while the Merit Award went to
KORYO CABLE Co., Ltd. (CEO Jung Yong-ho), Samwoo Industries Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Jun-hyeon), and Bogwang Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoon Won-bo).
The selected companies share the characteristic of possessing outstanding technological capabilities and unlimited growth potential. They are industry-leading companies in Daegu across various sectors — medical devices (1), textiles (1), machinery and metals (2), and automotive (2).
Award recipients will receive the following benefits over the next two years: low-interest Daegu City competitiveness enhancement fund support (3%) and SME management stabilization fund interest subsidy (3%). They will also receive preferential support for corporate intern staffing, overseas market development missions, and priority participation in various policy programs including overseas exhibitions and trade fairs.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on October 19 at the Inter-Burgo Hotel.
