6 Companies Selected by Daegu Chamber of Commerce as 'Intellectual Property Star Companies'

 The Daegu Intellectual Property Center announced on the 22nd that it has selected six local companies with strong intellectual property creation prospects — including KORYO CABLE Co., Ltd. — as the 2016 'IP (Intellectual Property) Star Companies.' The Daegu Intellectual Property Center is an organization operated by the Daegu Chamber of Commerce on the 5th floor of its building, under government mandate.This year's IP Star Companies include KORYO CABLE Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of insulated wires and communication cables; Jeonghwa Industries Co., Ltd., a specialized muffler manufacturer; Living Care Co., Ltd., a producer of thermoelectric materials and modules; Hucos Co., Ltd., a maker of office furniture and educational equipment; Lubecam Korea Co., Ltd., a producer of industrial and automotive lubricants; and Bowon Dental Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of dental equipment — six companies in total.According to the Center, 24 regional companies applied for this year's IP Star Company program, with six ultimately selected following a first-round document review, on-site inspection, and evaluation committee assessment.The IP Star Company Development Support Program is designed to discover promising SMEs with outstanding technology, strengthen their intellectual property creation capabilities, and expand their global growth foundation.
Selected IP Star Companies receive comprehensive support over three years in accordance with an IP competitiveness enhancement plan, including domestic and international rights registration, patent technology simulation development, customized patent mapping, patent-design convergence, non-English brand development, and IP management strategy consulting.Since launching the IP Star Company program in 2007, the Center has selected a total of 82 companies through this year.
