A wire manufacturing plant spanning 8,000 pyeong equipped with state-of-the-art facilities has been established in Dalseo-gu, Daegu. Having successfully completed the factory relocation and new headquarters construction, KORYO CABLE is now equipped with a production system for new and high-value-added products in preparation for the energy transition.
The cable manufacturer held the completion ceremony for its Seongeo Plant in Dalseo-gu, Daegu on the 29th of last month. The new plant, with an investment of approximately ₩60 billion, boasts a site area of 26,670§³ with state-of-the-art facilities, alongside a newly constructed 7-story headquarters building.
KORYO CABLE invested approximately ₩20 billion in new equipment alone, laying the foundation for high-value-added cable production while securing high productivity. This is seen as a strategic move to meet the anticipated rise in demand for high-quality cables during the energy transition period. A company representative stated, "We have laid the groundwork for producing new and high-value-added products needed for grid transformation."
KORYO CABLE has expressed its commitment to growing into a more solid cable company through this completion ceremony. CEO Jung Yong-ho remarked, "The limited factory site had previously constrained our ability to improve productivity and produce high-value-added products. Now we have established a factory in one of Daegu's leading industrial complexes — all thanks to our employees and everyone who participated in today's ceremony." He added, "Going forward, I will continue to learn and strive to build an even better company."
The ceremony was attended by prominent local figures including National Assembly members Kim Sang-hoon (People Power Party, Daegu Seo-gu), Hong Seok-jun (People Power Party, Daegu Dalseo-gu Gap), and Kim Young-sik (People Power Party, Gumi-si Eul, North Gyeongsang Province), as well as Dalseo-gu District Chief Lee Tae-hun.
More than 130 representatives from the electrical industry were also in attendance, including Lee Jeong-gu, Chairman of the Korea Electrical Contractors Association Daegu Chapter; Shin Si-yong, Chairman of the Korea Electrical Engineers Association Daegu Chapter; and Kim Bok-gwan, Chairman of Dongil Electric Wire — all gathered to celebrate the completion of KORYO CABLE's new factory.
Assemblyman Kim Sang-hoon expressed, "Thank you for the invitation to this meaningful occasion. I look forward to KORYO CABLE's future and new history as an energy company."
